题目解析

y 这是一个四饼图，描述的是两个年份（2000 和 2050）中也门和意大利的人口年龄结

构的对比；

y 对于这两个年份，可以把时态确定为一般过去时和一般将来时；

y 就图的主要特征而言，前一组饼 60 岁以上的人比例保持最低水平，而最高的是另外两

个年龄段的较量；后一组 0-14 岁的保持最低水平，15-59 岁的比例都处于最高部分。

The pie charts reveal the breakdown of three age groups in two countries-- Yemen 

and Italy--in the year of 2000 and the prediction for 2050.

第一段：转述题目。

In Yemen, roughly a half of the population was the youngest, closely followed by

the older age group people. As low as 3.6% went to the elderly. In five decades, by

contrast, this situation is not expected to change a great deal, only that 15- to 59-

year-old people will become the dominant part whereas the young is forecast to

fall to a third.

第二段：该段主要写也门的人口情况，值得注意的是，作者在这段中没有重复使用年份的时

间，而是通过时态的变化体现具体描述的对象。另其中使用了 by contrast 作为明确的对比

指示词。

On the other hand, Italian population saw less discrepancy in terms of ages, where

in early 21th century 61.6% were the older adults while the other two categories

were both less than a quarter. It is estimated that the gap between the two older

groups is going to be even smaller (46.2% and 42.3% respectively), though the 0-14

yeas old will only account for 11.5%.

Overall, compared with a balanced age group, the population in Yemen mainly

consisted of younger stronger people. In the future, the relatively more stable
